The Main Event of the World Series of Poker started with 7,319 poker players, including poker players from 92 different countries, 18 former world champions and 150 bracelet holders. The final table, to be played in November, is finally complete after more than 78 hours of excitement, some surprises and also some disappointments and great poker playing.
The full list of the poker players who will now play poker for the top prize and the title is the following: Jason Sentl, Joseph Cheong, John Dolan, Michael Mizrachi, John Racener, Cuong Nguyen, Matthew Jarvis, Jonathan Duhamel and Filippo Candio. When asked about the outcome of the Main Event, WSOP Ty Stewart commented: “It's been incredible theatre. Converging storylines centered around a bunch of young guns and a popular pro trying to do something no one thought possible. It's deja vu in the best way possible.”
For Jonathan Duhamel the challenge will be double since he could become the first Canadian to win the WSOP Main Event. For John Racener, Joseph Cheong and Jason Senti winning would be culmination of years of hard work while for Soi Nguyen it would mean beating the odds and winning as the only amateur player in a field of professional players. Mizrachi could make history and win a great double: the Player’s Championship and the Main Event.
All poker fans will have to wait four months to discover the winner of the Main Event. Next 6th November these great nine poker players will meet again in the WSOP Main Event final table to face the ultimate challenge and show who the best poker player is. Meanwhile, there will be plenty of predictions and bets.
