Fernando Brito could be Poker Player of the Year

Professional poker player Fernando Brito has taken a step forward in the race to win the Poker Player of the Year title as he won the final event of the European Poker Tour Prague called the €1,000 Turbo Random Bounty event. The Portuguese businessman is now at the top of the ranking for the EPT best poker player.

This has been a good year for Brito when it comes to EPT events, particularly side events. He won the €10,000 buy-in event in Vienna where he defeated poker player Rob Hollink to take home a prize of €90,000. Besides, the player finished sixth in the main event of the European Poker Tour London and won a prize of £145,000.

The EPT Prague also brings other poker news. Swede player Nichlas Mattson defeated Irish poker player John O’Shea during the heads up of the €10,000 buy-in event. He took home a good prize of €127,000. O’Shea also made it to the sixth position of the €1,000 mixed game event where he was busted by Dario Alioto.

On the other hand, professional player Max Lykov was the winner of the €1,000 event and won a prize of €24,400 after defeating a field of 67 players. The winner of the €3,200 Heads-Up event was British pro Richard Gryko who defeated Russian player Nikolay Evdakov in the heads up and received a prize of €34,000.
